How is it less than a month until Christmas Day?! I can’t quite believe that the year has gone by SO quickly (like, how did that happen?!), but Christmas is my most favourite time of the year, so I’m just a little bit excited that it’s basically here. One of the things I love so much about this time of the year is all the Christmas themed books, movies/tv shows and music around. It just adds to the build up to Christmas Day, and makes it that much more fun and magical.
Now that it’s only a month away, I think it’s about time for me to start getting the Christmas stuff out, and this weekend I started getting together some books/movies/tv episodes to kick off the Christmas season. And I thought I would share with you what I’m planning on reading and watching. Some of these are season regulars that I can’t not have part of my Christmas time, but there’s a few newbies and favourites too.
This time of the year is always SO busy that I don’t get a lot of reading time in, but this year I’m hoping to turn that around with some Christmasy themed books. And since making a Christmas TBR list I have to say, I’m so excited for holiday reading! These have all been on my TBR list pretty much since they came out, but once the holiday season has passed I don’t feel like reading them anymore, so I’m making these a priority this year. Are any of these on your list this year?
While my holiday reading game has been pretty bad in the past, Christmas movies are another story for me! I think it’s because I can put on a movie and still do the things on that long Christmas to-do list — like bake, write out cards or wrap presents — because I’ve watched it before it can just be on in the background adding to that Christmasy feel.
I have watched these so many times that I can pretty much quote the whole movie, but I love them so much — it doesn’t feel like Christmas time without them — so they’re a yearly addition to my holiday season. Love Actually is one of my all-time favourites so I usually watch it a few times before Christmas, but no matter how many times I watch it, it’s always funny and I can’t help but shed a few tears at the end.
These are a few favourites of mine, but I haven’t watched them for a few years now so I want to rewatch them this year. These a mix of classic, romance and comedy movies here so there’s something for every mood.
Along with Christmas movies, every year I like to re-watch a few of my favourite TV show’s Christmas episodes. I don’t watch all of these every year but I will choose a few episodes and re-familarise myself with these characters I loved so much.
